After the two double single constellations, in which the Patti Smith/Bruce Springsteen cover of “Because The Night” was followed by the Deine Lakaien track “Because Of Because” and “The Walk” by The Cure by the own Horn/Veljanov composition “Run”, the third double is now completed with “Unknown Friend”, which ties in with the interpretation of the Kansas hit “Dust In The Wind”.
After four singles, which had already outlined the concept of an album with cover versions and a corresponding album with original compositions, now the fifth single, taken from the forthcoming “Dual” double album, see its light of day: “Dust in the Wind”.
The first pair of singles taken from the upcoming DEINE LAKAIEN double studio album “Dual” consisted of the interpretation of the 1978 Bruce Springsteen / Patti Smith evergreen “Because The Night” and the corresponding original composition “Because Of Because”. Deine Lakaien then followed up with their take on The Cure’s classic “The Walk” which is now being complimented by the release of the corresponding original composition “Run”.
For over thirty years, the classical composer Ernst Horn and the expressive singer Alexander Veljanov have been a formative part of the international electronic avant-garde and dark wave scene as Deine Lakaien. The album “20 Years of Electronic Avantgarde”, recorded in 2007 together with the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt, made it obvious that the musical boundaries are very wide for this unusual duo.
DEINE LAKAIEN have released the first single from their forthcoming double album, tellingly entitled “Dual”, which is slated for release on April 16, 2021. Please view album details, cover art, and read about its fascinating concept below.
